Illustrations

I’ve created illustrations in all shapes and sizes, in many different styles. Some types of illustration which I am very familiar with having worked in a business publishers for several years, such as charts, graphs and mind maps, are not displayed here. I can and will make them but so will many many others and they haven’t featured in any of the recent books I’ve worked on.

I’m not a specialist illustrator, with a particular style or very highly skilled in just one area. I’m more of an all-rounder. I’ll have a go at various things. My edge is my creativity. I’m the person who gets called in to fix a problem where someone else might say it’s not my field of expertise. Even if I don’t how to do something there is a good chance I know someone else who does.

Here is a selection of the smaller illustrations I’ve done. Maps I’ve worked on are in a different section. These illustrations range from small devices and bars for line breaks and chapter headings to part titles, etc. The books they were used in range from literary fiction, to historical period dramas to fantasy. Different drawing techniques were used to create different effects so some are quirky, some are naturalistic, some are modern...
